SMF VRLA Batteries
The most critical component of any UPS system is the batteries and battery systems. If the utility power fails or there is a power anomaly, the UPS batteries are the engine, or the power source. The most common failure/problem in any UPS system is the batteries.
The battery system normally requires numerous batteries in a continuous string to support the UPS and give the appropriate voltage. This might be anywhere from 10 to 40 batteries in most cases. The number of batteries in a string can yield anywhere from 120 to 480 volts (nominal) depending on the number of batteries in the string.
In the event that one of the batteries fails, the entire string may be lost. This is why, while maintaining and configuring any UPS system, battery health and battery string redundancy are critical.
